My Story

Hi, I'm Lily. I was born in Kenya, and grew up there before moving to New Zealand. In Kenya, hair braiding and making dreadlocks are common activities among both men and women.

I have been doing dreadlocks since I was eight years old. Growing up in a large family, I locked and braided my sisters’ and friends’ hair. Over the years, I have developed skills and techniques to work with different hair textures.

Prior to working on my clients hair, I discuss with them their needs and advise them on what dreadlocks or braid style would suit them best based on their hair texture. Then, I also make sure that they know how to take good care of their locks.

All my work is free of chemicals - I use only a crocheting method to create beautiful locks.
